Bennette was named one of the top "Ten Women Volunteers in Hawaii" by Pacific Business News in 2008 – proof that she is an exceptional example of a woman who has managed to allocate time for both voluntarism and business. Bennette Misalucha Evangelista is founder and president of Red Monarch Communications LLC which focuses on five key areas: Community Engagement, Public Affairs, Government Relations, Sustainability Principles & Practices, and Filipino issues & marketing. Throughout her life, community service has been a key variable. Today, Bennette continues to be involved in community and nonprofit work. She is the current Board Chair of the Girl Scouts of Hawaii, Chair of the Continuing Education Commission of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii, and a Regent at Chaminade University. She also serves on the board of Oahu Transit Services (TheBus), Olelo Community Television, the Filipino Chamber of Commerce, the Filipino Community Center and the Oahu Arts Center. Her efforts have earned her many distinctions, including recognition as one of four "Women of Distinction" in Banking by the Girl Scouts of Hawaii (2002), United Filipino Community Council "Progress Awards in Banking and Finance" (2002), and the "State Mother of the Year" for American Mothers Inc (2007).
